Harris County Commissioners Court is set to consider a series of escrow agreements at its September 22 meeting that would let the Harris County Flood Control District pay for portions of ongoing flood mitigation and drainage projects, Community Impact reports. The money would go to design and construction in the Addicks Reservoir, Halls Bayou, Cypress Creek, Carpenters, Greens Bayou and San Jacinto River watersheds.
The San Jacinto River and Cypress Creek watersheds both drain toward Lake Houston. The agenda also includes a Precinct 1 application for a $15 million National Park Service grant for Tom Bass Park, which would require a $15 million county match, and $181,105 in state-funded agreements with six organizations to deliver meals to senior and disabled residents. The court meets at 9 a.m. at 1001 Preston St. in downtown Houston.
