Houston City Council approved three public works items on Wednesday, October 14, according to KPRC 2 Click2Houston. The council signed off on about $10.5 million for a joint project with Harris County to rebuild Tanner Road from Triway Lane to about 350 feet east of Gessner Road, work the station reported is aimed at both road and drainage conditions. The council also approved about $9 million in additional funding for the Eddington Lift Station in the Eastwood neighborhood, part of a roughly $96 million wastewater project tied to a federal consent decree, with construction expected to begin in summer 2027.
The third item is a contract worth up to $11.6 million for sewer stoppage cleaning and camera inspections to clear blockages and find pipe problems. The Tanner Road and Eddington projects are in District A and the East End rather than in the Lake Houston area, but Kingwood sits inside Houston city limits, so council decisions on the city’s street, drainage and wastewater spending are local government decisions here.
