American Express plans to expand and renovate its Centurion Lounge in Terminal D at George Bush Intercontinental Airport, growing it from 8,000 square feet to 23,000 square feet, Community Impact reported. The company announced the plan in an October 8 news release and expects the work to be finished by 2028. The outlet reported the upgrade will add a coffee and wellness bar, a specialty dining area with rotating plated dishes and a buffet, a second full service bar, refreshed restrooms, premium shower suites and more seating.
Bush Intercontinental sits just southwest of Humble and is the closest major airport for Lake Houston area residents, and Jim Szczesniak, director of aviation for the Houston Airport System, commented on the project.
