The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a body was found in the grass next to the 14300 block of Beaumont Highway in northeast Harris County shortly before 6 a.m. Friday, KPRC Click2Houston reported. The location is just south of Sheldon Lake and Sheldon Lake State Park, in the Sheldon area east of Lake Houston.
The sheriff’s office sent its Vehicular Crimes Division to the scene, and investigators said the death may be connected to an auto pedestrian crash. No cause of death has been determined. The person has not been publicly identified, and no age or sex has been released. No one has been charged or detained, and the case remains under investigation.
FOX 26 Houston also reported the discovery Friday morning and described the scene as a grassy area along Beaumont Highway near Sheldon. Both accounts agree on the location, and neither reports any arrest.
