Early voting in Montgomery County for the November 3 election opened Monday, October 19, and runs through Friday, October 30, Community Impact reports. The county has 10 early voting locations, and any registered Montgomery County voter may cast a ballot at any of them during the early voting period.
Hours vary by day. Community Impact reports polls are open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. October 19 through 23, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on October 24, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on October 25, and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. October 26 through 30. Voters who qualify to vote by mail must have their application received by the county by October 23. On Election Day, November 3, voters must vote in the precinct where they are registered rather than at any location.
This matters in the Lake Houston area because New Caney ISD serves part of the area and sits in Montgomery County, so some readers north and east of Kingwood vote in Montgomery County rather than Harris County.
Harris County voters are on a separate set of locations and the same calendar. This desk reported earlier that early voting in Harris County also runs October 19 through October 30, and that Harris County will operate 589 Election Day poll sites.
