Lone Star College system leaders told trustees on September 3 that the fire training facility at Lone Star College-Kingwood is now expected to be finished in 2027, Community Impact reported. The 2,000-square-foot building broke ground in February 2022 and was originally scheduled for completion by August 2023.
Executive Vice Chancellor of Operations Bridgett Johnson told the board at its regular September 3 meeting that the facility is designed for fire science students, with training areas that simulate burning buildings, car fires and chemical emergencies.
