A 2-year-old child died Friday afternoon after being found in a swimming pool at a home in the Atascocita South area, the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office said. Life Flight flew the child to a hospital, where the child was pronounced dead. Deputies have not said how the child got into the pool.
Constable Mark Herman called the death an unimaginable tragedy in a statement asking the community to keep the family in its thoughts. ABC13 reported that West Lake Houston Parkway near FM 1960 was closed briefly so the Life Flight helicopter could land. The death was also reported by FOX 26 Houston and KPRC 2.
No further details have been released.
