Harris County Voter Registrar Annette Ramirez is urging residents to check their registration status, saying about 300,000 county registrations are on the suspense list. A registration lands there when a voter certificate comes back undeliverable, after certain returned jury summonses, or when a voter does not answer an address confirmation notice.
Voters can confirm or update an address before the registration deadline, and Ramirez said anyone who misses that date can still vote by filling out a statement of residence at the polls.
The deadline to register for the November 3 election is October 5.
