Harris County has posted its voting calendar for the November 3 general election, and the dates matter to every voter in Kingwood, Humble, Atascocita, Huffman, Summerwood and Fall Creek.
Early voting runs Monday, October 19 through Friday, October 30. Polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on most early voting days, with one exception: Sunday, October 25, when locations open at noon and close at 7 p.m. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, with polls open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Voters who want to vote by mail have a separate deadline. The last day for the county to receive an application for a ballot by mail is Friday, October 23.
Harris County uses countywide voting, so a registered voter may cast a ballot at any open location in the county during early voting and on Election Day, not only at a precinct location. The Harris County Clerk’s Elections Department publishes the full list of early voting sites and hours ahead of each election.
Register first
None of these dates help a resident who is not registered. The deadline to register to vote in the November 3 election is Monday, October 5, which is handled by the Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector and Voter Registrar rather than by the Elections Department. Lake Houston Today covered that deadline separately in our report on the October 5 voter registration cutoff.
