Lone Star College trustees authorized about $1.43 million in work at two campuses at their October 1 meeting, including architectural services for repairing flood damage that Hurricane Harvey left at the Kingwood campus nine years ago, Community Impact reported Tuesday.
For LSC-Kingwood, trustees voted to extend and negotiate a contract with Collaborate Architects LLC worth $1,011,293 for architectural services covering repairs in the campus North and West quadrants. That work is scheduled to run from the summer of 2027 through the summer of 2029. The Kingwood campus took on water during Harvey in 2017 and parts of it have been out of full service since.
The second project is at LSC-Cy-Fair, where trustees approved negotiations with SpawGlass Construction Corporation for a $417,000 remodel that moves the campus food and clothing pantry out of separate CASA buildings and into the Technology Center. Construction there is set for January through May of 2027.
