The Rusty Buckle Craft BBQ & Texas Cuisine reopens Friday, September 25, at 22664 Community Drive in New Caney, nearly three years after a Thanksgiving Day 2023 fire destroyed most of the restaurant’s cooking areas, Community Impact reports.
Owner Allen Rhoden kept the business going from a food trailer and later from another part of the building while the new space was built. The East Montgomery County Improvement District board approved a grant and a low interest loan toward the rebuild, and the new dining room seats 125 indoors with additional patio space.
New Caney sits just north of Kingwood along the US 59 corridor, and New Caney ISD serves part of the Lake Houston area.
