| Lake | Level | Percent full | Reading |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lake Houston | 42.45 feet | 100.0% | 5:30 p.m. Central, Monday, September 14 |

Lake Houston
The U.S. Geological Survey gauge at Lk Houston nr Sheldon, site number 08072000, read 42.45 feet at 5:30 p.m. Central on Monday, September 14. Over the previous 48 hours the gauge recorded 190 readings running back to 6:15 p.m. Saturday, September 12, with a range of 42.40 to 42.53 feet.
The lake is down 0.05 feet from the 42.50 feet it read at 5:30 a.m. the same morning, and down 0.01 feet from the same hour Sunday. That is the ordinary slow afternoon drawdown the gauge has shown for more than a week. The Texas Water Development Board put Lake Houston at 42.49 feet and 100.0 percent full for the same date, a daily value that sits four hundredths above the evening gauge reading, which is what a daily average should look like against a reading taken after the lake eased down through the afternoon.
Lake Conroe
The Texas Water Development Board recorded Lake Conroe at 199.87 feet and 94.7 percent full for September 14, down 0.02 feet from the 199.89 feet recorded September 13. The lake has eased down by about two hundredths of a foot per day for more than a week. This is a once daily value rather than an intraday reading.
San Jacinto River Authority releases from Lake Conroe flow down the West Fork of the San Jacinto River into Lake Houston, which is why an upstream Montgomery County reservoir belongs in the local flooding picture in Kingwood, Humble and Atascocita.
