Toyo Co. has finished an expansion of its solar module plant in Humble that brings the site to 2 gigawatts of module production a year, the company said in an October 7 news release. A ribbon cutting was held at the facility on October 6.
The plant is at 6115 Greens Road in Humble and opened in October 2025. The expansion completed this week raises its annual module output to 2 gigawatts. Takahiko Onozuka, Toyo’s chairman and chief executive, called the milestone important for the company, saying “Completing our 2 GW module expansion in Texas is an important milestone for Toyo.”
Toyo makes solar cells, photovoltaic modules and related components. The company is in the middle of a further expansion at the Humble site that will add a heterojunction cell line and increase module production capacity again. No completion date for that phase was given.
Neither the investment behind the expansion nor the number of jobs it adds was reported, so the employment effect in Humble is not established.
