Harbor Health, a Texas health care company, has signed an agreement to acquire 27 Village Medical primary care clinics across the Greater Houston area, Community Impact reported on October 9. The deal is expected to close at the end of the year and would leave Harbor operating close to 70 clinics statewide.
Community Impact reported that the clinics are spread across Brazoria, Fort Bend, Harris and Montgomery counties, and that Village Medical will keep operating under its own name. Patients do not need to take any action and the clinics will continue accepting their current insurance plans, according to the outlet. The report did not list the individual clinic addresses.
The local angle is in that county list. Harris and Montgomery counties both take in parts of the Lake Houston area, so Humble, Kingwood, Atascocita and the New Caney and Porter side of the coverage area sit inside the footprint the agreement covers, even though the outlet did not name which clinics change hands.
