Harris County Commissioners Court approved eight escrow agreements at its September 22 business meeting, letting the Harris County Flood Control District pay its share of construction and design work in the Addicks Reservoir, Halls Bayou, Cypress Creek, Carpenters, Greens Bayou and San Jacinto River watersheds. The same meeting approved $181,105 from the general fund for six organizations that deliver meals to homebound senior and disabled residents, and a $2 million state parks grant for trail and amenity work at Doss Park in Precinct 2.
The San Jacinto River watershed drains Kingwood, Humble and Atascocita, so flood control work funded downtown shows up on this side of the county. No dollar total for the eight escrow agreements was reported.
Lake Houston Today previewed the agenda on Monday.
