Houston City Council approved about $2.5 million on September 30 for traffic safety work in District C, covering new traffic signals, a 10 foot sidewalk, crosswalks, ADA ramps, curb extensions, pavement markings, medians and rectangular rapid flashing beacons, Community Impact reported Thursday. The contract runs 400 days, with completion targeted for November 2027.
The streets named in the work are in and around the Heights rather than the Lake Houston area, but the spending comes out of the city budget that Kingwood property owners pay into as Houston residents.
