Fresenius Kidney Care has opened a dialysis clinic in Humble and marked it with a community open house on October 8, Community Impact reports. The clinic is at 18760 Hwy. 59, Suite 110, and opened through an existing partnership between Fresenius Medical Care and Focus Kidney Care.
According to a September 29 media advisory cited by the outlet, the site offers in center hemodialysis along with two home options, home hemodialysis and home peritoneal dialysis. The stated aim is to widen access to dialysis care in Humble and the north Houston area.
Dialysis is a treatment people travel to several times a week, so where a clinic sits matters more than it does for most medical offices. A Humble location on the Highway 59 corridor shortens that trip for patients in Humble, Atascocita, Kingwood and Huffman who would otherwise drive farther into Houston for the same appointment. The number of treatment stations, the operating hours and the clinic’s capacity were not stated.
